The council is a participatory body comprised of representatives of associations, groups, or other entities from the area of the property, the buffer zone, neighbouring areas, and the city in general that have a legitimate interest in the Landscape of Light. The goal is to guarantee the inclusive nature of the Landscape of Light management system and the active involvement and participation of the community’s associative fabric in the management and functioning of the property.
The Civic and Social Council allows and ensures the presence and participation of citizens in proposing actions and monitoring and evaluating them. To this end, an online database has been created that includes all the activities, programmes and strategic approaches relating to the Landscape of Light Management Plan. This body is organised into working groups that are of the utmost importance to achieve a participatory, inclusive, and dynamic management system and whose proposals are submitted to the Plenary of the Civic and Social Council, where they are discussed and approved or rejected.
These working groups deal with a range of issues affecting the Landscape of Light, such as Civic Life, Science and Innovation, Heritage Awareness and Generational Strategy, Nature and Urban Landscape, Cultural Activities and Outreach, Sustainable Tourism and Safety and Heritage Conservation and Urban Planning. They propose activities and discuss and contribute ideas based on their knowledge and experience.
