Established in October 1970 and endorsed by a Ministerial Order of August 1972 in the physical place where the house of the academic and politician Antonio Maura was located, this is a cultural foundation that promotes the study of Contemporary History by sharing with researchers its collections of documents and bibliographies. It is the custodian of Antonio Maura Montaner and Gabriel Maura Gamazo’s document collections, as well as other family collections, a library, a newspaper and map library and a graphic collection.
