The second edition of LuzMadrid, the Madrid International Light Festival, will premiere six works designed and produced specifically by different artists for unique spaces in the city, three of them located in the Landscape of Light: the monument of Alfonso XII in the Park del Retiro, the Cuesta de Claudio Moyano and the vertical garden of CaixaForum. They can be seen for the first and only time during the three days of celebration of the great cultural event, from October 27 to 29, free of charge, between 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

Stop Time is Juan Gómez-Cornejo’s proposal for the monument of Alfonso XII in the Retiro Park. The author, with the help of Illusion Stage, uses the fusion of music and light in a creation that dialogues with the space, involving the viewer at all times.

In the Cuesta de Claudio Moyano, we will discover The garden of read and unread books, the installation proposed by Ramón de los Heros Manchado for LuzMadrid 2023. Walkers and curious people approach the booksellers of the Cuesta in permanent search for literary gems: an out-of-print book, a print, a map of old Madrid, an old poster, a collectible comic. From a figurative approach, the artist creates a poetic universe of characters illuminated from within.

In collaboration with Julieta de Haro, Rosa Muñoz moves her work to the vertical garden of CaixaForum Madrid to recreate a setting that brings to mind beautiful floral stained glass windows with Gothic reminiscences. Floresta de cristal is a reflection on nature as an inspiration and model for architecture.
